Malloy and Reed transport an unconscious 8-year-old boy to Rampart General Hospital and help him and his parents cope with the ordeal. Afterwards, they assist a child welfare hotline operator locate a 15-year-old girl who has intentionally overdosed on pills, and then race to find the boy they brought in earlier after he escapes from the hospital.
